sdandrea1 Took the Caiman irons apart today and they have a stepped bore for a collared ferrule. Do I HAVE to use one? What's the risk?
CallMeAl sdandrea1 No, you do not "have" to. Epoxy will fill the void without issue. I've done it many times. Remember the old days when we used to chamfer the hosel. It just made a pocket for the epoxy to cushion the shaft. Same principle.
Eguller sdandrea1 I like the collard ferrules (like on PING irons). Just make sure the shaft sits centered otherwise the lie angle may be off to some degree. No wiggle, you're good.
