PGA FWs hit avg. is always 60-70%, been that for many years.
GIRs.... right now Scottie is at only 76%.
If you think about those 2 things, and we know the game has many other aspects they can screw up every 18 holes, those figures just aren't that great.
Leave the rough alone, no one wants to turn on the TV and see anyone looking like a GB member😉 trying to get out of 4" rough. And those Pros sometimes look like us doing such. Simply plant more trees and bushes.....strategically of course. Why soften the greens when they can't hit more than 76%? Keep in mind, Par 3 holes have been taken into that avg. of 76%. But jeezus...do water the greens, without letting embedding occur, so they aren't playing billiards when I turn the golf tournament on!! That....is not real golf/modern golf, as we all know it. No one wants to see anyone 3-4 putt, every day Amateur or Pro.
