raggmann54 sorry for no update until now.
I made it down to thermal by noon. My trip down was dry, for the most part. There was a bit of wind, but no real rain once I got more than 30 miles from home. I was able to hang out with a buddy and bullshit with him for a few hours.
We loaded up 5 in my trailer, and I was able to head out about 3:30. My trip home was dry for the 1st couple of hours. Once the rain started, I just increased my follow distance and slowed down to what I was comfortable doing. I saw a few wrecks (after they happened, of course). There were a couple of times that I had to merge onto another hwy, and had to be in the left lane, one of those times I had traffic on the other side of the divider hit a nice puddle and splashed water on my windshield. About 20 miles from the barn, I hit a few of puddles and had the water splash onto my own windshield. About 2 miles from the barn, I had a half mile long slightly flooded road. The sheet of water off the passenger side was higher than the cab of the truck ( I was laughing, and I was only going 30mph tops). Once I got to the barn and started to unload horses I got soaked.
Waited until the boss man got there and helped him unload his 5 horses. I got to the barn about 7, by the time I had left, I had both jackets I had in the truck soaking wet. It took a solid 2 hours to get home, and I made it safely just past 10.
