Agree, but charities may be the indirect beneficiaries when their CPAs funnel the $$ for deductions. 🙄

Especially for 501 c6 organization. I guess to remain classified as non-profit, you gotta give cash away......but to millionaires?

As a 501c6 they are permitted to generate greater income than expenses (which they always do) and still retain their nonprofit status. What they cannot do is distribute their net earnings to individuals who control the organizations (salaries don't count as they are upfront costs of doing business). Their profits, therefore, must, by law, be dedicated to furthering the purposes for which they were organized. So, it's all "reinvested" to meet the PGA's mission statement: "The mission of The PGA of America is to promote enjoyment and involvement in golf among the general public, as well as to contribute to the sport's growth by providing services to golf Professionals and the industry". Obviously the more vague they can make it - the harder it is to fall outside the stated bounds. lol
I'm unclear on how their actions taken against LIV/LIV defectors fits within those parameters? Those appear to be self-serving only.

The PIP is too arbitrary. It has a lot to do with internet searches. And whatever the hell the other stuff means. I think it’ll end up getting scrapped.

Agreed, or at least it should. It sounds easily quantifiable until “to reward members who generate the most positive influence in the tour” is added. Who cherry picks those?
