Good tournament at the Honda Classic. Nice human interest story. Eric Cole who is 2 behind the leader Chis Kirk going into tomorrow is the son of former LPGA player Laura Baugh and former PGA player Bobby Cole.
Laura Baugh is my age and struggled with alcoholism. Remember seeing her on the Golf Channel talking about it. Arnold Palmer’s grandson Sam Saunders who is friends with Eric said he is the best player he played with.
Cole doesn’t have many PGA Tour starts, but is making the most of this one so far. 56 time winner on the mini tours. His first time playing here, but he caddied for his friend Saunders when he played in this tournament.
Edit: Heard this morning on PGA Tour Radio that Chris Kirk suffers from depression and alcoholism. Some good stories at the top of the leaderboard.
