darpar Guilty as charged, in terms of following the Cleveland thread. No one is perfect, and there are of course much bigger problems in the world.
But just for the record, I have always enjoyed following Tiger's career; I have never been one of the haters. I don't feel like a major 'fanboy,' either, to be honest. But the I have always given people the benefit of the doubt. And I always believe rhat people can learn and grow, and move on from even bad mistakes.
This particular joke just hit me wrong. I know it was just meant to be humor among friends, but it strikes me as Tiger essentially refusing to grow up, refusing to actually recognized us poor behavior, learn from it, and move on.
Sure, maybe I am giving this stupid joke more seriousness and attention than it really needs. God knows I do plenty of things that I am not proud of; I would hate to be in the public eye as much as he is. I guess I just think it sends a terrible message to kids who idolize him. Essentially, if you are good enough at playing a game or a sport, you can behave however you want and we will forgive you. Doesn't he have a daughter? At what point does one give up junior high school stunts and try to set an example for one's kids?
OK, I will get off my high horse now. 'Let he who is without sin case the first stone.' Maybe I should pay more attention to that book that window guy hates so much.
