I agree and as I said, he may win a dollar, or lose, or a judge tosses it before any court proceedings happen.
Given the ludicrous amount of the suit, it may just be a warning shot to Chumlee to shut his mouth, or a roundabout attempt at getting him cancelled. I am not an insider, like some pretend to be.

Spuzz I went back and see it is a 'defamation' lawsuit. His attorney must be way out of the golf world loop, not to know what has been said/written about him, prior to the PGA or Chambles even knowing him.

My guess is that is likely the case. I would think that the golf channel would offer to shelve the vendetta if they could avoid the legal bs. Doubt they really want to spend the money defending the right to grind on Patrick.

johnnydoom It's not really The Golf Channel. It is NBC Sports Group/Comcast; owner of TGC. Might have the money. Might have the time. Reed is not attacking just some small TV station. imo, there will be a fight to the finish; I'd be very surprised if not.

And like I said about Reed, Chamblee may well be eliminated after it's all over. Getting rid of the 'distraction'. He surely does not have the popularity to hang on.

Par4QC You may very well be right. I'm inclined to think even the NBC empire will not want to spend the money fighting something that can't really generate a whole lot of revenue, unless there are underlying connections like their alliance with the PGA Tour.

Likely correct, given today's cancel culture, and I agree, it's likely the main goal of the lawsuit as well.

Yeah, he's not going anywhere. He's getting paid to do exactly what he does which is be an analyst and give his opinion. And as far as Reed's lawsuit shutting Chamblee up.

I don't see Chamblee talking about Reed much anymore anyway since Reed is playing in the equivalent of Siberia. lol And as far as I know the Golf Channel doesn't cover tournaments played in obscure places like Siberia. 😏

That has probably slowed down by now.
