Confirmed with a buddy that had another organization do it, and it was 1200 for him. The builders here use an enclosed spring that can't be repaired it has to be replaced. The new spring and shaft were $800 and the labor to install was $200. It took about an hour, and I agree it felt like a lot. They did few other small minor repairs free of charge. I probably got taken to the cleaners, but it is done and over with. They had the parts on the truck, and the new spring is much easier to repair and looks normal the older one looked like it was meant to break. House was built about 10 years ago now. Grrr, not wanted I wanted to hear from the online experts, but I figured it was getting takin to the cleaners.
