Mattyv Probably just recognizing that the grass isn't greener somewhere else is my guess. My sister lives in the Midwest and cannot stand the cold but her husband and to be adopted child and friends and family make up for it.
More of a general question, not targeted at you... Is it easier to do a job you like in a city you hate or live in a spot you like with a crappy job? Who knows. I've found it almost impossible to pair up a location with a job that interests me.
I moved from a snowish climate (Central Virginia) to a mostly non snowy climate (North Texas) and it was well worth dealing with a few snow storms each year in VA for a beautiful spring and fall and the convenience of being on the East Coast.
