As someone who grew up in the north, one thing you will hear from people who have been trapped in that cycle of 5 months of winter is...they would miss the "seasons" even though one of them is literally a miserable 5 months long, or more, as April can now be snowy and cold. I can say I miss fall. That was a beautiful time of leaves changing color and temps dropping signaling to get out of dodge before the near 6 months of misery.
Now, the "this made world news" pile up in Forth Worth is over 100 cars, and some are still trapped in their vehicles. The story made national news. People who live in good driving conditions are a nightmare when conditions turn bad. This supposedly happened around 630am. Over 6 hours later and people still trapped. What a disaster.
