Shot a 41 in league last night, decent round only marred by a 3-putt double on #2. We were done early so we played another 9 but I could only manage a 44. I was definitely tired walking the back 9 (was up early yesterday and worked out) and we were rushing chasing daylight.

I swapped the Trono 55 R I got from CallmeAl into the Elyte and it worked pretty well. Made the driver 45.5" which is longer than I've played and I blocked a couple of drives and popped 2 up, but choking down I hit it straight. This shaft is seriously smooth (maybe a bit too soft) and it brought some pop back into my game. I haven't been able to get a drive to get past 230 but I knocked several 250-260 last night....unfortunately I didn't take advantage of them 😞

garyt1957 At that point I’ll throw the whole bag in there. It’s fun doing it this way …. More challenging to putt with the PW and more satisfying when I play well. AND…. I don’t get pissed if I miss a putt!!😃

Haven’t played in like 6 weeks…finally was able to join a couple of my homies on the back 9 today…beautiful afternoon.
Scraped out a 44…one birdie and only two double bogeys so not horrible but not great either 😆…I continue to despise a few of the strategically placed trees on my home course 😜

First seniors day of the year. Fucking cold and windy. Scramble format and -3 won. We were even par. Ball does not fly well when it is 40 deg and a 15 mph wind. Hard to grip a club. Long range forecast for us is a cool May.

83 at The Eagles (Forest Course). Had 1 birdie. Course was in tough shape. They get $65 for a summer rate which is probably why we had the place to ourselves. We had a coupon for $45 on our Paradise card and it should've been $25. lol

Beautiful morning out there. The course should rename itself Deer Run because of all the deer out there. The Forest Course's front nine was designed by Tampa resident Gary Koch. Back nine by Ron Garl. It's a nice layout.

But the condition sucks.

Sneakylong We played there 2019? on both Lakes and Forest and didn't really care for either. IIRC they were inexpensive but in poor condition and the clubhouse was closed for renovations. It probably wouldn't have seemed as poor but we played Southern Hills the day before and that is gorgeous but expensive.

39, 40 today. Double bogey on #16🤬, but nice birdie on #4. Approach shot hit the pin and sat right next to the hole.

Southern Hills in Brooksville is gorgeous. Played there a few times. Had a fellow member at Fox Hollow that was a member at Southern Hills as well.

And The Eagles was in very good shape when I first played it over 20 years ago. It was Beth Bauer’s home course.

Sneakylong How’d you get on because it’s private.

We booked through a place that could get you out on some private courses. We played Southern Hills several times as we used to go in January when the rates were better.

I keep a running spreadsheet of my winter golf trip expenses and Southern Hills was $80 in 2019, $85 in 2020 and $125 in 2022. In 2023 we moved the trip out to the end of February to get better weather and IIRC it would have cost at least $250 to play it so we played Fox Hollow, Westchase and a couple others. Since 2024 we have been hitting the Orlando area.

I only got on Southern Hills once. I was in a 4some at a charity scramble and one of our teammates won a round for 4 as a door prize. He invited the rest of us. Good dude👍🙏.
