Swirling fog, visibility OK for anywhere between 100-150, beyond that you could make out shadows but course was quiet, so out with the pencil bag and off we go. I say "we" as I have another pencil bag and convinced golf_ghirl it's the best way to play a few quick holes so she gave it a go.
Got 8 holes in, a few looks at birdie (for both of us), but greens aren't the best so settled for many pars and the occasional bogey (no doubles ..!). Surprisingly decent golf as neither of us had played for a while and I was using my new putter for the first time (Ping CA70).
Distance control was excellent, even putting left hand low for the first 6 holes; considering giving that a go next year but can't get fully comfortable with the grip yet ... still undecided. Switched to right hand low and no difference in results. Who knows ... got months to decide.
