Had a very strange but great for me round today. Course was packed and we had a 5 hour round.
But despite that I hit the ball very well for me. Finished the easier front nine going bogey on 7, 8, and 9 for a 42.
Then on the much tougher back side I went into what I can only describe as Zen golf from 30 years ago. I had a double bogey 6 on #11, the easiest hole on the course, after a par on #10
I then went two putt par, 3 putt bogey, 1 putt par, 1 putt par, 1 putt par, then my nemesis par 5 that I have never been on in regulation ... on in 3...10 feet over the pin putting downhill my great buddies giving 7/2 odds of making a birdie ... well ... fuck them ... I drained it.
Bogied the last hole for a 39 on the toughest side and like I said doing a Zen dance on the 18th green feeling like I was 41 instead of 71 with my second straight round of 81 and knowing that breaking 80 for the first time in 21 years IS possible. π
