fatshot It's hard to find a good chiropractor. Most are cookie cutter chiro's, they just do the standard adjustments no matter your problem. Sometimes I think that's all they know.
See if there are any Applied Kinesiologists in your area. They do chiropractic but much more, if you get a good one. Lots of muscle testing, kneading, massaging, etc. I've been through appointments where they never cracked me once but I sure felt better. And I don't know how many times I went in with a couple issues and he asked me "Is your elbow, knee, shoulder hurting" and I hadn't said anything about it yet but that was the second problem .
