I don't know about a "king's ransom" here. DET gets a 3rd round pick this year, and 1st rounder in 2022 and 2023. I think we can all assume this means LA is going all in, so we can assume those 1st round picks will end up in the mid-20s at best.
DET will fill some holes with those picks, but they aren't getting players that are changing the franchise.
I'm guessing ride with Goff next year, then cut him to save $. DET may be able to trade up in the draft this year and get one of the QBs available. But even then, they are getting a future QB and maybe a couple of decent players. Not a bad trade for DET, but not a whopper.
