Packers D gave up 31, 37, 44 and 28 points in those 4 straight losses. Hard to win when your D is hemorrhaging points like that. Of course, putting all the points on the D is wrong, as Jones fumble set up Brady inside the red zone.
I don't think Rodgers is too concerned about another situation looking better believing he will make the difference wherever he goes. He elevated the Packers for years. No reason he wouldn't think he'd do it anywhere else.
No way he goes to the AFC, though. Mahomes is in his way over there. If he goes, he'll go to the NFC, and probably back to SF, the team he dreamed of playing for and was crushed didn't draft him. Heck, he even wore 49'ers colors on draft day. Picked out that tie thinking he was being drafted by them. Ironically, OC Mike McCarthy played a significant role in him not being drafted by SF, preferring Alex Smith to Rodgers.
This season was Rodgers swan song. His FU to the Packers. Similar to what Favre did when he went to Minnesota, but Aaron had to do it while still a Packer because he couldn't get out last season. A post-June 1st trade only costs the Pack 14 mil on their cap, so it is indeed doable. I believe it's probable he's gone. Be very surprised to see him commit to returning. The org burned their bridge with him by taking Love. No matter how you sell that to Rodgers, he ain't buying it. And, he will never forget the 4th and 8 call that robbed him of finally beating Brady and getting back to the SB. Now, Rodgers legacy is that of a great QB who is mostly a guy who couldn't get it done and that stuff matters immensely to a guy wired like him. How could he sell himself on ever coming back to Green Bay? I don't see it.
Exactly how Rodgers will perceive it and why he won't return to Green Bay:
