I was discussing my " high and right" shots that come out of nowhere with my Ping/Modus 105 shaft.. and even the Titleist clubs our pro here at indoor golf has with his Nippon 880 AMC shafts that are light. I was telling another instructor how my heavier shafted Nikes were nice draws but not as long. He suggested adding lead tape to the head. He told me to try his clubs, he has light Tensei graphite shafts but needed head weight so he lead taped up to D4-D5. Mine are D2.
I think its worth a try, I never thought of it before. I have a scale so I'm going to do the 7 iron and favor a bit toward the heel because I was not able to turn it over before. I'll go up to D4-5 and see how it is. I hit his and hit all draws, they felt great... you knew they were light but could feel the head come through. My ball speed was up where I want whereas it was lower with the Nikes but I was sacrificing ball speed for Accuracy and shot shape. Itll be nice to have the Ping Ball ball speed and the Nike shot shape predictability.
