I saw the club today at Golfers Warehouse.
No, I did not hit it. Its terrible to look down it. The White stripe on the top of it AND the closed face...yuck. Plus, and I know it was a carpeted floor, but I set it down and it sounded cheap...its the thin sole plate. You tap it on the ground and there's not the solid sound like every other driver. It reminded me of going into KMart and soling a Dunlop Aluminum driver on the linoleum floor.
I said to myself, it sounds that bad just resting it on the floor...I'm not hitting it.
If they are marketing it as a Wilson Staff driver, why didn't they go old school late 1970'ish and make it all gloss black. Only thing I liked... the smooth face with the Wilson logo.
I was talking to the guy I know in the store...he didn't know it was not USGA approved. He said, " oh, thats what the Taylormade rep meant when he said it was illegal".
