Walterjn - this reminds me of a senior golfer that was a poor farmer just west of Ft. Worth, TX. His story was he just hit tons of balls against his barn and won a lot of area tournaments, nothing eye-opening. He caught lightning in a bottle by qualifying for the Sr Tour in the qualifier and was on it for a couple of years. Google "Robert Landers" when you get some time...I was a big fan of his first year on tour. I met and became acquainted with his manager/agent during the tour stop in KC and flew to DFW to play in his pro-am fundraiser. Just a great guy that wore his Dickie work pants with his billfold in his back pocket, secured with a chain hanging down, while playing in events. Dickies and Veterans of Foreign Wars were 2 of his big sponsors. Then I ran into Robert while playing on a course named Cross Timbers in Azle, TX a couple of years ago where Robert was the volunteer golf coach for the high school team and we had a brief get reacquainted chat.
Keep banging those balls against the barn and good things can happen!
