Orlimar Intercept single length irons

Does anyone know anything about the Orlimar Intercept single length irons?

7 iron length (37"), 63* lie angle, D2 swingweight, 95 gram steel shafts.

They're not too bad looking (but not great looking IMO).

At around $200 for 5-GW they might be worth a shot for someone looking to try single length irons.

Not me, but I have a buddy who really wants to try SL but is cheap ass. I told him I'd help him out and came across the Orlimars. I know they're not the same company as when Jesse Ortiz owned it from days gone by (loved all of his clubs) so not sure of their quality.

I know a guy who has them. He liked them but went back to conventional. He's a very good ball striker who can play anything.

I tried a set of them. They were pretty decent clubs. I considered reshafting, so I must have liked the heads well enough.

I had a set of Cobra One Length last year. Maybe it was the shaft (graphite, senior flex), but I couldn't get used to the 9-pw-gw feeling VERY light! Also, the trajectory, esp. with the shorter irons was VERY high. I sold them and
have moved on. I'd recommend that your friend somehow find a way to TRY a set first, and try them outdoors, not
in an indoor facility if possible, before buying.

I have a set of hardly used Pinhawk SL (not Vertex) 6 - PW, AW, SW, and LW (8 clubs) with steel FST 115 shafts. $160 shipped Conus. Nice looking clubs. I am thinning the herd.

These were purchased in 2019 and are the "newer" SL 272g heads not the original lighter SL heads and not the newer Pinhawk Vertex. They are over length at 39" and were tip trimmed for an 8 iron head weight at a Sr. flex. The FST 115 is a combo flex shaft and I can pull the shafts and trim them for an R flex if desired and butt trim to any playing length desired. These were spine aligned on my NF2.

No extra charge for tip or butt trimming to desired length. The grips are new Avon Chamois II Jumbo. I can post some pics if desired.
