So my G400 SFT showed up and I immediately took it to the range to see if it was a "weapon" or not. I picked this up stock so it's too long and light for me. I play my drivers around 44.5" with 65-75g shafts and this driver is nearly 46" with a Alta 55 Stiff shaft so I had low expectations. Despite this I hit the darn thing decently. It just wants to go high and straight. I struggled initially as this thing probably weighs 40g less than what I normally use, but I was able to slow down and hit it. That was a bit surprising as I usually can't do much of anything with a driver of this length and weight.
I generally fade my Rogue driver. I can draw it, but I really have to work at it. According to my clubfitter it's at least 3* open in the square position so even set at +2 it's still open and I found +1-D worked best for me. I miss ordering Wishon heads with a square FA. I had forgotten the wrench, but the Ping was set at "+" and it looked relatively square to a bit open. I made all sorts of meh swings and this club just hits it high and straight. I could get it to draw and it was much easier than with the Rogue, but it wasn't hooking or drawing a lot. I could even get it to fade although not a lot. It will be interesting to see how it performs once it's shorter and heavier.
So far I think this club could be a weapon. Not sure I want to take my gamer shaft out of the Rogue just yet so I'll have to see what I have that would fit, but I think this driver head has potential.
