Mattyv I have been meaning to build this for a year now and finally did it. Had a leftover piece of turf from doing my backyard. Also had one of those 3 piece hitting mats that came with the net I bought a couple of years ago. I combined everything on top of a 1/4" piece of plywood that measures 4'x4'8". Under the main piece of turf I glued down a set of Harbor Freight anti fatigue mats for extra cushion. To ensure the mats don't move I secured them down with some small bolts with extra wide washers. Its fairly light weight and should work well. All in, I spent about $30 in materials I didn't have already.
mgrin Mattyv Had a leftover piece of turf from doing my backyard I am curious what you did in your backyard?
mgrin Mattyv Is that a putting green? I have been thinking about making one and wondering the simplest and cheapest yet affective route?
Mattyv I may do a little clean up on the edges of the mat if I feel like it. It is fully functional and that was my goal last night. Time to start hitting some balls.
Mattyv mgrin It is not. I wanted to put one in but the wife and kids wanted a dog so I decided not to. Good choice on my part since the dog chewed 3 holes in the turf I did put down. I would have been extra pissed if she did that to a putting green.
Mattyv meagain Into a net. Unlike your piece of property there, I don't think my neighbors would like me hitting golf balls through their windows.๐ Might be fun for a minute but that could get costly.
