Stevie Ray Vaughan
3 performances at Austin City Limits October 10th, 1989, 10 months before his death.
"Look at little sister" has everything, his voice, command of the stage, flirting with the audience, when he does his solo break he attacks his Fender, he called: "Number 1", has a string break and shows his ability as a performer, not skipping a beat. He never looks at his hands, always feeling the song and watching his audience. ALL aspects of SRV as an entertainer in one song.
"Mary Had a little Lamb" displays as described by Eric Clapton when SRV becomes a "channel" where the second solo comes from deep in his soul and flows. I was truly inspired watching him do this song, it was an instance where I saw a person doing EXACTLY what they were meant to do and receiving pure joy from it. I wasn't envious, it showed me how truly amazing a gift can be and how amazing people can be.
"Love me darlin'" The classic SRV Texas Blues, he probably played this song a 1000 times and has the raw intensity of telling a story which is the blues. His voice shifts and in your face solo screams Texas.
