So, I'm supposed to play golf tomorrow. While doing a bit of gardening this morning, I cut my thumb with the garden shears. Crap! Crap!! Crap!!! (I may have used a different word or two.) Can I swing a club? I'm not sure. Better test it out.
I wait for about an hour, but the stupid thing won't stop bleeding. I'd been through about four bandages already. I put a new one on and headed out to my golf net to see if the swing caused any pain. The pain's wasn't bad, but after about five swings, the bandage was leaking blood and was pretty soaked. Hmm, what to do.
I go inside to check the first aid kit to see what kind of gauze I have. Nothing looks right. But what is in there is a couple of my wife's minipads. Hmm, I wonder if they're any good at soaking up blood. 😉 I cut one up and put a piece under a new bandage and then headed out to hit some balls. I hit about 20-25 balls, and the bandage is completely dry. Not only that, when I take the bandage off, the outer layer of the gauze is completely dry, with the inner layers holding all the blood. (Hey, now that commercial makes sense.)
If someone here works for Johnson and Johnson, you're welcome.
