Yup.. wtf?? I’m going to end up keeping them. Both people said no because of 2 weeks time. Used to be 3-5 days.

I have an inbound package that left a town in Florida that is 100 miles south of me near Ft Myers. It went to a distribution center in Atlanta freaking Georgia. Now on it's way BACK to Florida. Priority 2-day my arse. USPS sucks.

Sarnella USPS is doing all that so they can get more money from congress.

You mean this ragtag outfit is orchestrating an "organized disorganization?"
I find that hard to believe.
I do believe they are sitting on packages though.

    Sarnella

Its because Covid is decimating their workforce. We’ve seen it here firsthand.

    sdandrea1 Priority 2-day my arse.

I had a time sensitive business deal I needed to ship documents. One party in Lincoln, Ne and I sent theirs FIRST CLASS certified on a Saturday morning and it arrived Monday. NICE.

The other party is in Salt Lake City and I sent their docs Priority. 5 days! From here it rattled around in 2 distribution centers in the KC area (two of them!) after it arrived in the first center on Monday (typically priority goes in there the same day). Then they pussyfoot around and send it to fricking OMAHA on Tuesday. Omaha doesn't turn it around until the wee hours on Wednesday. Arrives early in SLC on Thursday and delivered to partner later that day.

That delay to SLC may have cost the deal. I should have have sent it Fed Ex 2 day and they would have had plenty of time to turn it around. Lesson learned. The price of delivery services just went up.

While I was stewing and chewing around this fiasco that was unfolding before my eyes, I wonder why so many points have to touch a piece of mail? Are these extra stops by design to placate unions that demand more employees in more locations in exchange for votes? Or is it political patronage where a Congressman promises jobs to his district? The weight of the Christmas season and the pandemic is shedding light on this organization's house and the cock roaches are scrambling.

My 1 hang up for the week. And, they are constantly changing things in the tracking info. After arriving at Columbus on 1/14, it left Columbus on 1/14; deleted on timeline. Earlier today, it showed arriving back at Columbus, which has been deleted from tracking. Now, I'm wondering where it's headed...again, as Delaware is a suburb of Columbus. Idiots. Cincinnati pulls the same shit at their hub.
    Neil Young was correct...."forget O HI O!!"

I wish I travelled to as many cities as some of these packages go to. I can’t imagine how much money priority is now. I always send it the cheapest way.

Since they are short of help, don’t they realize if you ship a package in Ohio to another city in Ohio you can minimize the amount of people needed to touch the package if you don’t send it to Montana, Arizona, North Dakota and Maine first??

Checking in...granted this was a First Class Package, but still - 3 weeks to be delivered from IL to VA?!? It sat in IL for 10 days before moving, stalled again in Maryland. I called USPS on 1/15. Did the call shake the package loose?

Typhoon Jesus Christ....🙄. So how much more is UPS and is it quicker?

Maybe, but they like to break shit and leave shit out in the weather.

I had a packaged shipped from Roanoke, VA on the 15th. So far it's made it to Indy with 2 other stops along the way.

Spartan I had one shipped from IL, that went to IA, then went to WI. It hit 4 stops there, before getting headed in the right direction. West to California!!! wth?

Par4QC We once ordered cheese from Wisconsin. Within one day it was within 25 miles of our house in St. Louis. From there it went to New York. About 10 days later it showed up and went into the trash.

The package shipped on the 15th left Indy and arrived at a local processing facility on the 22nd and left the same day. Two days later, it's back there and left again. Amazing.

Damn glad they don't charge by TOTAL distance. 😉

Spartan That's happened to me a couple times the past few weeks. Like the drivers get lost. In their own town.

Par4QC I checked this morning and now it has gone through the same processing center 3 times! It was a birthday gift for my son who was here this weekend. I'll have to give it to him the next time he comes up since I sure as hell am not shipping it USPS.
