Yeah, Iâd love to respond to that article. Best part was where it said cart riders are likely to get Hot Dogs and a 6 pack at the turn. Walkers will get a bottle of water.
We had 350-425 walkers when we reopened. We have the same amount of people now but we sell out of carts almost every day.
Leagues... this is classic... one league is 40 people. They walked, all of them. Now every single one of them pays for a cart... 20 carts. The revenue is nice but Iâm one who sees the benefit of exercise and canât understand 20 carts.
Walking was faster too. I keep track of people making the turn or finishing up 9 just to make sure nobody is trying to slime a free back 9. For the time we had no carts a 9 hole round was around 1:50. Now with carts itâs 2:15 plus. Nobodyâs bringing a 24 pack with them, nobodyâs getting a cart stuck in the creek that takes 4 guys 20 minutes to free up....
We have a couple in there mid 80âs that use push carts. They play 9 holes every day. Both of them look like they wonât make it from the car to the first tee. They play by themselves in under 2 hours unless there is a cart group in front of them holding them up.
