Serpentine ( wrap) a large tour towel around the heads of the clubs when you walk with it ( or cart ), that will minimize the rubbing between the shafts and the bag. Will also save the graphite shaft from wearing a spot from all the movements.
Figure out from the way you use the bag, arrange the golf clubs to minimize movement of the golf clubs while it's in motion.
Yes, these linings do not last long. Not sure if they are designed that way so one will have to get a newer one.
I had replace the lining on several of my staff bags, those were close to 20 year old and seen maybe 50-60 rounds of 18 each year.
Select velvet fabric from any fabric store, some Velcro strips, measure ( from old lings taken out of the bag ). Cut and glue ( or sew on ) the Velcro strips ( could be installed cut into smaller pieces )..... back to business.
If you are attached to this bag for some reason, find a luggage repair shop near you , they will make it look like new.
