Tinker I’m a 10ish handicap 90 mph driver kind of guy and I definitely play better with shorter heel to toe golf clubs. I stay somewhere around the middle of the face most times. Long heel to toe irons tend to get on the toe side and long heel to toe drivers take away all workability for me(my go to drive is a baby fade).
KCee When I got fitted I was initially expecting to get some Cally Apex CF16 irons, but the launch monitor data showed I was more consistent with the Apex Pro Forged. In the end I did combo in the larger 5 and 6 iron though for more forgiveness. The Pros still look a bit short from heel to toe to my eye, but I've played larger irons and don't seem to score any better and the smaller heads are easier to hit out of the rough.....where I am all too often.
Spuzz This is why I still play smallish wedges but now that I am older, I use bigger irons. It would have been nice if they had given some actual blade length numbers on the clubs they were showing. Not very scientific for a Science Lab test. lol
DonM I have felt the same thing about blade lengths. Longer ones are definitely more forgiving, but accuracy suffers. I’m good for hitting consistent distances anyway. So I’d rather have a more accurate club. But I have to live with the poorer mis-hits.
shokosugi It's definitely the ping blueprints, then i500s, so the biggest is either the g700 or maybe the g400
