It depend on it the process could be reversed. Different types of hot melt has different property, some could reverse the process and some are difficult needing higher temperature and a few are almost impossible to reverse the process.
If the hot melt in question was formulated to be reactive and thermoplastic. Thermoplastic adhesives are
reversible. At sufficiently high temperatures, they tend to become liquid again and thus lose their cohesion.
Most industrial hot melt has high temperature break down point.
I would venture taking the hot melt out only if you intend to re-paint the head. Of course, never try it on the multi material construction.
