scotts33 Yes, I think I knew Jim doesn't use deflection profiling, but with a lack of frequency meter and a father-in-law who is a bit of a woodworking pro, I couldn't resist.
Given that previously all I'd ever done is tip trim to chart length, butt trim to playing length and line shaft to graphic at back, anything is probably better than that.
It was really born out of the fact that I have a preference to graphite shafts so wanted to do a better job.

To me the biggest benefit of using the NF is determining where the spine(s) are and adjusting the tip trim to get the desired flex with the spine oriented to target in the most stable plane. I don't want to turn this into a spine thread but I have had sheet wrapped graphites vary over a full flex when rotated in the NF. I think, in general, most graphites are much better than they were years ago but being able to check is good. I still have concerns when rotating one of the newer adjustable head clubs.

You just described 97% of G'Buzzer hobbyists. Works for them. I guess. 😁

BTW...that's how OEM's do it also. Though they tend to use .355t shafts and jam them in there. Makes for kind of a close frequency match but there are always outliers.

Par4QC Did someone mention DIY shaft clamp?
That I would definitely be interested in.
Last time I looked here in the UK they started at £150 and up.

-D-E- I have no idea why I quit building those things. I do remember my computer crashing and losing the link to my toggle clamp supplier, where they were dirt cheap.

Your FIL should be able to set you up with one that would work great, and look nice. Maybe even get a bit of something going on the side, for himself.

Rickochet Exactly this reason I wanted something like the NF4.
Fortunately for me, all of my clubs are fixed head designs, even my driver as it's a Wishon 919.

-D-E- 🤣 If you can open up my brain, you can have plans for many things!

I used to have a woodworking business, and had to design many items for a company out of Seattle. He would tell me over the phone what he wanted, and I would build it. We did this for several years, yet there was never 1 drawing for anything I made. Even the jewelry boxes I designed/built. I always said if I cannot see it in my mind, I can't build it. So, any plans are, seemingly, locked away.

Nightmare. Can never tell what he's doing as it's all in his head.
Then I ask, "How did you do that?" and he'll just go "Like this..."
And I'm still none the wiser.
Like you, he will probably be able to figure something similar from your pictures.
For my own sanity, could I just ask for what information you can tell me?
Board thickness, model or throw of clamp, etc.?

Funny you should ask. I was drilling something out in the clamp and the bit hung up and spun out with the pads wrapped around it. I had some thicker rubber I stuck back in and it works ok but not as nice as the pads you put in. I was wonder what you put in them. Can you get this in small patches? I would like to put the same as you used back in.

Rickochet The pads were from a roll of roofing seam repair, very sticky on the one side, just tacky on the other.
