Hoss7504 This may be a stupid question, but is there any reason to not use a graphite iron shaft in a hybrid instead of a graphite "hybrid" shaft?
Mattyv Hoss7504 I use Iron shafts, even steel one. In my hybrid builds. There is even enough length on a 40" shaft to go +.5 to .75 over standard length.
Sparky Nope. Like Spuzz says, as long as the iron shaft is long enough, it's good. And most iron shafts have enough room to tip to 3i or 4i length, which should suffice for a hybrid. Hybrid shafts usually have shorter parallel sections than iron shafts.
Par4QC sdandrea1 I've always wondered why a 'hybrid' shaft would make it 'right'? As long as the shaft is tipped appropriately for the head weight, then trimmed to corresponding playing length, it's perfect.
scotts33 The reasoning for some shaft designs and manufacturers to produce hybrid shafts and this also includes fairway shafts is counterbalanced shafts. This type of counter balanced slightly heavier shaft works well for golfers that pull down hard late release types. This goes back to Balance Certified.
