ode Oh, very nice! Love me some Warren Haynes! I think he's one of the hardest working and most talented musician/performers out there!

Orlimar1

One of my favorites, Orlimar.

His final album release (Slam Dunk) prior to his passing included a version of Barry White's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' with Toby Kieth on the vocals. I thought they more than did the song justice. Wayman was a phenomenal jazz bass player.

The wife and I are heading out on our very first cruise on Friday. 7-day deal, heading to Belize, then Costa Maya, then up to Cozumel, then on over to the Bahamas for the last few days of the trip.

But... it's a smooth Jazz cruise. We have the early-evening show tickets, 6 pm each evening.

Euge Groove, Richard Elliot, Norman Brown, Boney James, Brian Culbertson, Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, Peter White, Gerald Albright and Candy Dulfer. Our favorite musicians, each night!

And Candy can more than hold her own against these legends!

Well I'm jealous as heck. I get the emails from them all the time. Unfortunately my wife HATES smooth jazz. I can't even listen to it when she's around.

I'm a HUGE fan of Norman Brown and Peter White. Those guys are amazing.

And that is my favorite song by Candy. I wish the guy playing the guitar had used more of a hollow body jazz box on the video though.

We've been on 3 cruises. You 2 are going to have a blast. Reply back here when you get back and tell me all about it please!!

dyno I don't think she looks like that no mo'. She can sing her ass off though.

      Pandora stations:
      Allman Brothers
      Gary Puckett
      Carolina Beach Music
      Dean Martin
      70’s music
      Stevie Ray Vaughn
      Blues guitarists
These are the ones I listen to the most but I like smooth jazz and Tim Janus once in awhile too.
Recently met a guy and went to see him play.
Lazer Lloyd. Eclectic philosophy of playing guitar and singing that is worth listening to.

One of, if not the most, under rated, classic Metal bands in HISTORY!! Also one of the BEST!!

Here's a guy nobody probably has ever heard of... the emotion in this song and on his face is incredible to me... if you can relate to his words, it's hard not getting emotional right along with him...

Here's an FGI member with an original take and some added, to an oldie. Pretty sure that Hammer and Rex met him while they were here at the house.

Just got back from our smooth jazz cruise yesterday. Man.... what a blast!

Took lots of pics, but this one is for you.

My wife and Norman Brown. What a cool dude...

      Undoubtedly
      The
      Best
      Smooth Jazz
      Guitarist

Man... he can make that guitar sing.... it's a Singleton model, cedar top, mahogany back, maple neck. About $5k, without the bells and whistles....

Rick Braun, Bony James, Euge Groove, Kirk Whalum, Brian Culbertson, Richard Elliot, Rick Braun, Candy Dulfer, Marcus Miller, Eric Marienthal, Keiko Matsui, Norman Brown, Gerald Albright, and so many others...

      More random pics:

Marcus Miller (pork pie hat on the end, played with Miles Davis back in the day), Nate Kearney (middle) and Nate Phillips (yellow bass guitar far-left)

      Richard Elliot

      Gerald Albright

Brian Culbertson (first concert of his I've attended... phenomenal keyboard/pianist and trombone player (new album Colors of Love) - very good

      My buddy, Euge Groove

The "Ice Bar" on the 5th deck, with Ocean Views

Me, aka "Tequila Tuco" in Costa Maya at one of the tequila-tasting events in Costa Maya. Yes, I've been framed. LOL

And lastly... my lovely soulmate showing her windswept beauty at the Costa Maya resort

What a fabulous time.... I am officially on Day 1 of the "Back Home Detox" tour. 🙁

But what a getaway it was! Shared many drinks with the performers after the shows!

Hoping to get back there in 2020!

Wow great pics!! I'm so glad you guys had a great time!!!

I really might have to reconsider going on one.

Brian Culbertson is going to be a little over an hour away in a month or so. But - of course I have to work that night!!

          Orlimar1

I was pleasantly surprised with Culbertson's performance. So much so that I'm looking at his tour calendar to see when he's heading my way.

These jazz cruises aren't cheap, but if you love smooth jazz - it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Very intimate setting... very laid back. Roughly 15-20 concerts, and the big one each night with the headline artists. These artists appreciate the fans, make time for them, taking pictures, talking with them, etc...

          🙂

Sunday morning church service on the cruise. Rudy Currence, performing 'Sunday Morning.'

What a wonderful experience this was! The video below was back in 2015, but he performed it for us.

Such a blessing it was. 🙂

Right now I'm listening to Pandora radio's Van Morrison channel.

          Listening to Luther Vandross tonight.

Such a distinctive quality of voice he had... he left us much too soon back in 2005. One of my favorites he remade back in '88, from the late, great R&B artist Major Harris who passed back in 2012.
