SMT Agree. Nothing about this swing concept makes any sense to me. Furthermore, I think it is based on a misunderstanding of photos that are actually not showing what he thinks they are showing. The shaft is releasing very quickly as it goes through the ball, and is likely already in a convex position at impact in all tour pros, but it can't be properly captured in photos.
In other words, to me this is like saying that you found a new way that would allow the wheels on a car to spin forwards instead of backwards, like you see when you watch film of a car going down a street. 'The car should be able to travel faster and with much more efficiency if the tires could spin forward; it is a much better way for tires to spin, and it is going to happen sooner than later. Make sure you remember that you heard about this concept from me first.'
SMH, it's an optical illusion, and so is the 'concave shaft.' You don't need to build an entirely new swing method in an attempt to fix an optical illusion.
I wish him no ill will. He seems like a nice guy, and I hope he continues to enjoy playing golf with whatever swing he wants to use, but this is of no use to me.
