Bravopilot The downtown areas of the Quad Cities, Rock Island, IL-Davenport, IA, had a major pigeon problem. Our 10 story hotel was in the downtown and we had them all over the rooftops every morning and throughout the day. 1 day I just happened to notice there were very few pigeons and had been that way for a while. I also noticed carcasses around, figuring someone had put poison out. Then remembered that Davenport had settled in a couple of falcons across the river. They had made their nest above the bridge and were cleaning up both sides of the river area.
They had to be so fat they could hardly fly. There was literally1000s of pigeons prior.....we could see the whole area from our roof. The year I walked away from that place, it was a rare sight to see a couple on the roof any time of day.
Falcons...better than any gunslinger from the Old West!!
