Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Today I went to the nearest full 18 course and hit the range, mostly to work on my driver. I bought a large basket of balls and went to the range.
When I got there there was one guy working on short chips on the right side. I started short chips and slowly progressed to longer clubs. I was just trying to make good contact. 1/2 way through that bucket I got told I could have the rest of his bucket. Turned out others showed up and this was from the guy behind me. He left me an almost full bucket.
The range got busy and one guy was waiting for a spot, so I took a break and let him have my spot for a bit so he could have a warm up. When he was done, he said I could have the rest of his bucket, it was almost full as well. I ended up hitting 3 full buckets as I was also lifted more left over balls by others.
I went through almost one and a half full buckets on just my driver alone.
At one point I remembered that I keep my mevo launch monitor in my bag. So I fired it up and my best strike was 247 carry with a lot of spin.
This one was one of the well struck with low spin, most of them were 4k plus in the spin rate. There were a few that were poorly struck and had a spin rate of 500.

I asked a couple of the guys who work there and they confirmed that the balls are supposed to spin like crazy so they lose distance.

My mom just had both of hers done. She’s very happy with the results and can’t believe how much better she sees at night.

colej I haven't driven at night for a very long time. Bad enough in the day time, esp. cloudy days. And yesterday, was snowing on my way home from the optometrist.

Typhoon yes. I'm happy to see that I did hit one 247. I did put down my driver and hit some wedge shots, then 5 wood and 3 wood. Mostly off the tee to see if I could hit them straight. After that I went back to my driver for the last 8 or so balls. Once I remembered how I was setting up, I went back to hitting nice baby fades and fairly straight balls. I was playing with tee height, and saw that the low tee height was helpful in my contact. Not to mention that if I set up my distance by extending my arms all the way out and putting the ball just inside the toe of the club face, I was hitting mostly center face. I did hit one that flew just over 200 and then ran well past the chipping nets at the far end of the range.

Walterjn Be aware at these ranges people will take some of their own shag balls and hit them so they can see how far it’s really going. Those balls get mixed in bucket you end up with. Wish I was out there with you to knock off that spin

Typhoon everything that came out of the dispenser was the same color, name(as far as I saw). I did hit a couple that I pulled out of my bag, those were balls I had found at one point or another. One of those I did slice pretty badly, the other didn't do much better. Unfortunately, both were hit after I discovered that my mevo was sitting there with a dead battery and not picking up anything.

Smash Factor is about ball striking location, so no, imo.
Swings hard but appears to be all over the face, if smash factor is accurate.
At his swing speed, he should be getting more out of it.

Spuzz yep, all over the face. I'm not as consistent as I'd like to be. Then again, I started about 4 years ago, I mostly play a short course that I don't hit my driver on, I really don't hit my 5 wood there much either.

Bravopilot It's nice to get some swings at the range, but the condition of the balls leaves a lot to be desired. No idea how a quality ball would react. I get it.

At least you got to hit a bunch of balls and groove your swing for accuracy. So that’s good.

Smash factor is Ball Speed divided by clubhead speed. So 1.50 smash factor is supposed to be perfection with driver. Smash factor for irons is always lower. As previously stated, one thing that affects smash is strike location, face angle.

I worked at indoor golf this morning. My country club Friday night league guys come every Saturday morning and rent 2 bays for 4 hours. One guy left after an hour, his kid was sick so I took over for him and worked as well.

Heading to the mall shortly to swap out the phones. Ya know how clubs start behaving when they know they could be replaced?? Well my phone did the same thing…. It’s surreal… the new phone came 4 days ago and my current phone hasn’t lost service since that day. The reason for the change is my phone losing service and requiring a restart 10-20 times a day. Now it’s fine🙄

Put the Christmas stuff back into the attic. Ordered some tomato seeds to start next month indoors. Getting ready to smoke a turkey breast for supper. Not sure what to do while the turkey is smoking, but I’ll find something to do.
