Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

This morning I got a text from the boss. Car was dead, and could I check it out. Strange that it was dead, she drove it 100 miles yesterday without a problem. Car is parked as always, nose into the garage, tail end at the door. With a dead battery.... Multi meter said the battery had 5 volts. Good thing I have jumper cables that are just barely long enough to reach from her battery to the one in the truck parked behind her car. Her car is a GMC Yukon Denali by the way just for size idea... Got it started and let it idle for 20 minutes, check out the voltage it's charging at, took it for a drive. Still no clue as to why it had a dead battery, I installed it last year, so it should still be good...

It's 3 am. Tornado sirens going off like crazy. Sited tornados just west of us and headed our way. Thunder booming and raining like pouring piss out of a boot. Weird shit for mid December. And my little dog is a 12 lb. fart machine. What a great morning.

5 am and the storm warnings just expired but still raining like crazy. And 68° at 5 am in December is nuts. Dog quit farting. Wife said something hit the back of the house so will check when it gets daylight. Too late to go back to bed so coffee is on. I predict a nice nap after lunch.

5:30 update. Dog has not quit farting.

Governor just came on. Apparently one tornado stayed on the ground for 200 miles. Looks like it stopped in the county just west of us.

Rickochet Glad y'all made it through. We had some pretty violent thunderstorms between 4:00 and 5:00 am, but I didn't hear the sirens go off and didn't check the weather, although my wife was up and looking on her phone for (presumably) that reason. She didn't get me involved, so I went back to sleep. Just looking at the radar now and man what a long and violent line on the cold front. Looks like it goes from Louisiana to Ohio and instead of pushing in the direction of the front, all of the storms are traveling parallel to it from the Southwest to the Northeast and so everyone gets a good portion of the length of the cell instead of the thin width of it.

Rickochet Just saw your governor on tv and pictures of a devastated Mayfield. Glad you’re ok, but my condolences for your state and neighbors.

Looks like all that bad shit went around us here in southeast Missouri. The first wave was south and east of us, second wave north. I think the wife and I are gonna start looking at tornado shelters…..

OMG....I remember one time having to put together a plastic combination kitchen stove and sink for my daughter
with the crappiest directions I ever saw...!!! Must have been up until 2:00 a.m. putting that sucker together!!! I
guess the squeals the next morning were worth it.....

We were in a brewery last night when everybody's phone went off at the same time with a tornado warning. One couple got up and left but everyone else stayed. We stayed, it didn't make sense to try and drive home. Looking at the Weather Channel app, it seemed like everything was south of us. A tornado ended up hitting a town about 10 miles south of the brewery with one fatality.

Another early morning alarm, this time to wake #2 son (he needs encouragement to get a mattress off his back) for an early morning football match, then just hung around waiting on a break in the weather (cold, grey, wet, miserable. Never arrived so dog got dirty (and happy) again, I just aggravated my cold. Blew so much crap out my nose I think I've dropped a hat size 🤧

Our city had a bulk waste disposal day today so we took a chair and our old Christmas tree and dropped them off.

Last night the system that caused all the tornados last night passed through here. We took a look around our house to make sure nothing had blown off and found one of our neighbor's trees in our backyard. So I spent a good part of the day cutting it up and putting in yard waste bags. The city will pick up the bags on Friday.

Later, we're doing a Zoom Happy Hour with some friends. She's going through chemo right now and doesn't want to risk exposure to Covid so a Zoom Happy Hour is the best way to get together with them.
