Right now, wishing I'd just dropped off the horse at the vet and headed home.
Last night about 11, I got a call for an emergency haul. Round trip was about 130 miles.
When I finally made it to the vet, it turned out the vet on call is one that I've dealt with at 1am before. That time I was going to drop and run, except they were short handed and I stuck around and held the horse for them. Not to mention whatever else I could do with one hand that would help. Vet told me I was her favorite 'non-vet vet tech'.
Last night/ really early this morning, we got to chat, and catch up a little... while I was holding the horse and letting staff do what they needed to. I finally left when they took the horse to his stall for the night, and made it home about 3 this morning.
I'm now in the process of getting back on the road and hauling a small enclosed trailer to Temecula for a horse show.
Been up since about 7.
