Just played a 9-hole par 3 course. Probably my best day ever ballstriking with the irons. Scorecard below. The greens are not very receptive in terms of contouring and they're on the smaller side with generally less depth than width. On 2 of my 4 missed greens I actually hit the green near the front or middle but the ball bounced on through.
Played from the "long yardage". There was about 10-20 MPH of wind to deal with but as it happened the 8th hole was downwind, so I didn't need to pull any hybrids or even a 6-iron (my 135 yard club). Pured a 7-iron (old-school lofts) to the front portion of the green and it bounced through. Ended up getting up and down 2 out of 4 times and no 3-putts.
The birdie on 5 was about a 6 footer, hole high, played it left inside and the putt went down on the right side.
I am still somewhat in shock. It's a good feeling! Time for an Arnold Palmer to wash down some pizza!
