The plan was to go for a walk this morning.
But...my wife walks into the house and tells me we have a problem. I walk outside and find our mailbox has been knocked over. There was a note on it and our neighbor (who I probably have only spoken to a couple of times in 30+ years) tells me he hired a couple of guys to clear some storm debris from his yard backed into it. He says he'll take care of the cost, he'll deduct it from what he owes those guys.
It's cast aluminum so it just snapped off near the base. It's bolted to a concrete pier, so I spend the next hour trying to find an exact replacement. I eventually did. I also had to remove the remains of the base from the bolts holding it on (not easy). And remove the mailbox. The mailbox is also damaged, but I'm not going to ask for payment for that since it had some damage already and I was thinking of replacing it anyway.
Then I finally went for my walk.
