Mattyv Typically it's alternator/battery that makes a vehicle just quit/stop running, not the starter. When the alternator goes bad it generally kills the battery, meaning after replacing alternator, the battery will not hold charge, thus also needing to be replaced.
You can take those parts, alternator & starter, to a parts store where they can test them, usually for free.
