backinit I know that in this state mediation is mandatory in civil family law. I'm not sure that is a good idea as you have to go into it with the right attitude..if you're not going to you might as well save everyone the aggravation and go straight to court.
My services are provided through a contract with the DoN (Navy), and few a few other government agencies. They are all workplace conflict resolution, and are voluntary for the parties. The good news is that nobody is required to use ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), so in most of my cases, I have parties who want to be there and are hoping for settlement. The alternative is formal EEO complaint......a long and expensive process.
