Spuzz Dries them out and may be an attempt to avoid disease?
Back in the 90's we still had a few courses here in the Memphis area with bent grass greens and several of the greens, mostly those cut into the surrounding woods, required fans in order to keep from losing them in the summer time to disease. They've all since switched to some form of fine bladed Bermuda grass in this area and ditched the fans. Very hard to keep bent grass healthy around here, but I missed playing on them when they were gone.
