Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Typhoon Hope it goes well and you can get them to a reasonable value on the Jeep. The car industry seems to have choked the supply enough that whatever the demand, people are willing to pay MSRP or worse and take out a 7 year loan.

johnnydoom I hate buying a car. We don't need one really, she is getting tirder of the Jeep. She never takes the roofs off, complains its too high... My day job gives be a car allowance and gas. I am currently using my MIL's 2007 lexus so the car allowance is money in the bank. BUT, they want me in a newer car... I keep ignoring them. So we'd have a car payment, a newer vehicle if dump the Jeep, 2012 vs 2019 SRT and around 60K less miles. I wish she never saw the truck. It has every option except Towing. The interior is incredible and its a rocket ship.

Although a son of the south, I officially joined the ranks of true southern peasants and had a tomato sandwich (tomato, mayo, salt, pepper). It's not as good as a BLT, but really was quite tasty in it's own right.

I’m told by my golf buddy who is from Florida that for the tomato sandwich you must use Duke’s mayonnaise. I’m a Hellman’s guy myself.

Growing up in New England I used to love when in late summer the road side farms would have tomatoes 🍅. They seem to have bred the flavor right out of the tomatoes here in Florida.

I’d rather have a nice tomato than a piece of roast beef. Another thing I miss besides the seafood from up north.

Me too. Looks like I'm about to though. Just got a call from the insurance. They want to call the truck a total loss and offered me about what it would be worth in un-wrecked condition. I'm sure they've analyzed the situation and decided they can resell the truck as is and still come out less than the repair costs. Think I'm going to take the offer, wrangle up some additional cash to get something newer and go see what I can find.

The Lexus IS an es350 but I look like one of 90 year olds… it’s silver of course, like every other Lexus in a parking lot.

WFH today. Guys just showed up to remove our wall oven and install a double oven....the wife always makes sure I spend twice as much as necessary. Of course the electrician now can't make it until much later today. Got golf league tonight. We won the first half and now we're in the cellar for the 2nd half lol.

I have been struggling with Uncle Sam for two weeks. The feds now use a single source to login to most if not all agencies Login.gov.. Getting an account there is not the issue. Some agencies like VA require a second level ID verification. You can also use ID.me.com. Both use your state ID or driver's license. Neither will accept an image of my state license. I have used my cellphone, two scanners and two digital cameras and none accept my images. For Login.gov no ID, no verification. You can take your ID to the USPS for in person verification but you have to have to have a barcode email from Login.gov to present to the PO. I have been trying since June 29 to get this. I emailed Login.gov for help and they send me the same info that does not tell me how to get to the steps of how to verify in person. I have been going around in circles for week. Login.gov quit emailing me a week ago. Their phone number posted does not allow you to speak to a person. This is super frustrating. Finally, this morning I get an email with a screen shot that shows a "Verify In Person" button. I go back online and upload my docs again as before they don't work and my screen does not show the verify in person button. So, for grins I delete my images and reload with others. They don't work either. Suddenly the "Verify In Person" button appears. What they never said was that you have to upload images and have them disapproved at least twice before you get that button. Duh. So now I have the barcode and off to the PO. Don't get me started about IDme.com.. to get verified. I had to order a webcam for my PC and request a new SSAN card. Everything they want needs a full SSAN number on it with no asterisks. The only one that does that is my SSAN 1099 and I sent it to them but they still want my SSAN card. GRRRRRRR. I don't have much hair to pull out but I have less than two weeks ago. RANT/OFF

Well, when you have benefits that you have earned in your lifetime you sometimes have to fight the system glitches to get access to them. My issues are because I am trying to do online stuff. There are also other ways to get your benefits such as snail mail and personal appointments at brick and mortar offices.

Today I was supposed to have a short haul here in the valley. That fell through, on the bright side the folks ordered a shade for the skylight. It showed up yesterday. I installed it today. It definitely cuts down on the brightness in the living room and glare on the TV. Should keep the house a little cooler as well.

I apparently have healthy eyes for a 71 year old. Cataracts are forming, but no need for any corrections yet. Damn dilation lasts for HOURS!

Me too at 73. I do take eye drops at night to control eye pressure. I hate the dilation also. I have to go in every 6 months for checkups.

I have found that going to your local Social Security Admin office and speaking to a human was time consuming but WAY more effective than any on-line or phone assistance. The opposite is true in dealing with the Motor Vehicle Division.
