Had some questions about the local men's club price, so I went to the course and asked in the pro shop. One of the guys gave me a very good answer as to the discrepancy that I was seeing in the price between what was listed, and what was coming up when I entered my information.
On my way in, I had noticed a small tent/ canopy at the private side of the driving range, the side that the high-school team uses. So I pulled over on the road outside of the course, and walked over. Turns out there was a Callaway club fitting going on, appointment only yet the guys told me to come on in and they were more than happy to show me what they would/ were doing. Showed me a few of the different heads, driver, iron, woods. Some of the shafts. Showed me how the launch monitor works. Pretty freaking cool! From what I can tell, they were using GC Quads. He'll, one of the guys set up a driver with one of the autoflex shafts and let me hit is a few times. I didn't try to rip it with that shaft, I was working on being smooth and a decent swing. The swing speed was about 87-89 mph. Would have been nice to see what club head speed is with my driver, and get some numbers with that.
I did get to hang out and toss balls to the older gentlemen who was getting fitted, so he wouldn't have to walk over to the bucket and get another one. Turns out the guy who set up the driver and let me hit it, had kinda done the same thing when he started. Hung out with his buddy who was doing fittings, and just help where he could. It was interesting to see it done. The head fitter found out I play an older set of Callaway irons and gave me a box of 2 Callaway balls.
After that I went home and repaired the last of the jump standards I brought home to work on.
