I am back for a short off and on stay. I will not go into details but I broke 7 bones in my right foot...the operation did not go well. I knew I was in trouble when the surgeon asked. "Which hand was it again?" 🙂
I do want to thank all those that texted, emailed and called and just called in general to take my mind off this problem and cheer me up...way to numerous to list all. Thank you very much.
Now let's get down to business....
The 2016 European Open Championships..............Scott Beaven WON using a Geek DCT Driver! LOL Congratulations Scott...as I was told you were the ONLY one hitting Geek. Love it! Sending you Geek heads that I have lying around so you have back ups at World's.
The most important news was the passing of Arnold Palmer. I have met him several times and played a few holes with him Thanks to the Vice President of sales at Palmer Company. Those in their 50's and 60's truly understand more than most just how important Arnie was to the game. Even with all the greats before him, and that would include Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and all the rest, no one did more for Professional Golf than Arnold Palmer. Whatever Tiger did to help jump start the golf industry....multiply that by 10! He took the game out of the Country Club and laid it at the door step of the workingman and every man. Without Arnie and his army the televised portion of golf would have taken much much longer...The King made golf on T.V. happen. And because of T.V. he made the Long Ball popular and exciting. Without Googling I believe it was the US Open at Cherry Hills in 1960 or 61 when he drove the ball on the green first hole in the last round to go on to Win his only US Open. That one shot opened every ones eyes to the Big Ball off the tee! One blast...One Ball....in Arnie's mind is what won him that tourney...according to his autobiography. He understood the power of the driver and how to excite the crowds. That is why I keep harping on you guys on the power of the One Ball wonder blast and how exciting that is. Arnie went for broke on every shot to 'move' the crowd. He probably lost more Majors than he won just by holding to that mentality of exciting his Army. And it worked! Especially for T.V. I could go on and on but I know you guys understand just how important this great man was and why they called him The King. And he was just that.......THE KING!
RIP Arnie
Corporal Steve Almo of Arnie's Army
..........Now on to World's!
BTW, the long paragraph of Arnie was directed at Pro LDers
