Rickochet
marshalling this past summer, our 9th hole is a 90* dog leg left par 5 with a creek down the entire left , side off the tee then it winds a bit and crosses the fairway at a 45* angle. The creek catches many balls, sometimes 2-3 per person. It has long grass all around it ( dangerous to cut the grass) and people are constantly searching. One group was on the green but I saw the group behind waiting on the tee...WTF? Them see a bag standing at the corner and this guy with a ball retriever in hand at the on the other side of the creek from the fairway fishing balls.....i drive up and he had maybe 20 sitting on the ground...I tell him his group is on the green and there is a group waiting on the tee.....he plays the " no English " card ....and starts to try and pick up all the balls , fumbling them, one rolls into the creek and he drops the other balls then grabs his ball retriever....I'm on the fairway side of the creek and say NO, NO, NO.......and point to the green and say GO, and NO Balls .....he responds my clubs ( for him to get back to his clubs he would have to jump the creek ( not) or walk about 30 yards, cross the bridge then 30 yards back to get his bag......I grab his bag, toss it on my cart and start driving to the bridge, pick him up and take him to the 10th tee....he had to leave most of the balls but still stuffed a bunch in his pockets , one fell out as we were driving....i didn't stop.
