Got to play 2 of the nicest courses in Citrus County the past few days. I have family and friends in town so we got out of our club and hit a few of my favorites. Baseline Golf in Ocala is an executive course that is meticulously landscaped and near perfect turf. Black Diamond Ranch Quarry course is exclusively private but our Church holds and annual fundraiser for the county families in need. What a treat both courses are.

Baseline is amazing from a landscape and maintenance standpoint. The turf is incredible on the fairways, greens, tee boxes and rough. No weeds, mulch is perfect, flowers blooming, trees trimmed. They charge $39 for 18 w/cart, $19 for 9 holes. I have no idea how they can keep the place immaculate with green fees as income.

What are those things growing upwards that provide shade?

I miss those.

Here is a stock photo of ours. It's running low on funds and I can assure you it doesn't look as neat and trim as this at the moment. This photo is from 4th green looking towards the 5th fairway.

I've only played desert/south west golf once. It was at Payute (sp?) outside Las Vegas. What a nice change from playing courses cut thru pine forests. I loved it.

Beautiful courses! I get to come back to Shingle Creek in Orlando next week and enjoy the views of the inside of the building.. got thrown into the trade show they are holding, but not the golf tournament that goes with it. I have decided to look for another job 🤣

Here's my favorite hole at my home course (Chippewa Golf Club, near Toledo, Ohio). It's the 7th hole, a 335 yard
dogleg left that turns sharply left at the 150 marker at the left-center of the picture. The trees you see on
the left are hiding a deep creek that takes a sharp turn up by the green and then crosses in front of it (you can see the bridge just to the left and in front of the green). Not much room for error here....short, but tight.
Played here today and the best I could do was a bogey.....
