Typhoon The company is looking to fill the position in a month....within that time I’ll have already started at the golf course, that’s what sucks for me. Sort of like what your wife was saying. I haven’t had much luck getting a job lately so I’d hate to pass the golf job and then he other place decides to grab someone else etc...
Let them know your situation and tell them that you would love to work in the pro-shop until the new job starts, if they would like that. The new position could take longer than a month to be filled, could take 3. No harm in hedging your bets and making everyone happy.
mikeintopeka What pisses off my wife and management team are the hires they make that then attend onboarding classes, pass background checks and screening. THEN they decide not to show up on the first day they are scheduled to work or quit after picking up their first paycheck without telling anyone. Those are dick moves.
We hired a production engineer. He did all the pre-hire stuff, initial background checks, drug testing and such. Did the new hire orientation (full day) and then on the first day, he walked around and was introduced to everyone, brought into the cleanroom and introduced to everyone he would be working with daily and then he didn't show up after that.
That was a dick move.
