Is it a requirement ? Or do you just have to declare whether you played alone or not?
Our system has always had a field that asks you to enter the name of an "attester". It is not required....95% of my rounds are with people who do not carry a handicap so are not part of the system. I enter my score as usual and if a playing partner is not in the system that field is left bland and does not impact anything.
the question asking "was the round played alone" was in place last season ( maybe the one before too) in the Golf Canada Handicap system it's simply a yes or no. yes and your score has been validated. If you played alone then enter NO and the score, rightfully, does not count towards your handicap. If you played alone You can lie and say you didn't and the score will count.....but that would defeat the purpose.
WHS was implemented here January 8th. Under the new system, My handicap went up from 8.5 to 8.6 . Many of The changes are good IMO and there is no impact, or nothing that I have to do differently from what I have done the past 10 years. Either using the app , kiosk at the club or the website , takes 30 seconds to login and enter my score hole by hole and done.
not sure what GHIN costs but Golf Canada Membership is cheap at only $50. It provides free shaft labels, discounts on golf things, tertiary club insurance, a magazine subscription and money goes to junior golf programs. ....pretty good for only $4/month
