Sadly stats show that in the USA 1 out of 2 women and 1 out of 3 men will get cancer at some point in their lifetime. Those are truly startling statistics.
We've all been touched by this horror at some point and will again.
It does suck.....that said , and while we cannot change our genetics , one can help reduce the risk by
eating healthy/well, getting proper sleep, protecting ourselves from the sun, DONT SMOKE, don't drink too much , try not to worry and stress over everything etc.
Obviously, Nothing is fail safe .... my MIL never drank or smoked but had cancer twice and died from it as did a 10 year old friend of my son.
